TravelRight Arena Footing is Great Indoors or Outdoors!

How is the TravelRight footing blend different from all  other footings on the market?
TravelRight arena footing is a unique product with many advantages that improve your riding surface. This footing is naturally dust-free and does not need to be watered. TravelRight will not compact, resists tracking, and has a slight cushioning effect when riding or jumping. TravelRight performs flawlessly in indoor and outdoor arenas. The footing has been used for international competitions and World Cup Qualifiers. Many other products are available but none can give you all the benefits of TravelRight.

How often will I have to water?
NEVER! TravelRight has a special component that eliminates dust. It never has to be watered, ever!

Does it freeze?
TravelRight does not need to be watered and as long as your outdoor arena has proper drainage (no standing water), it will not freeze.

How much maintenance is required?
TravelRight arena footing is a very low maintenance surface. Horse manure needs to be removed immediately after riding or training. If manure is left to contaminate the footing the manure could become dusty. The fiber in the mix stabilizes the footing so it stays in place. You do not have to turn it or aerate the material. It doesn’t require aggressive dragging. Maintenance will be minimal depending on arena use and location (discipline and number of daily riders, indoors vs. outdoor arena). TravelRight will not compact. We can also supply a custom harrow to maintain the riding surface.

Will horses slip while jumping or lunging?
TravelRight arena footing is a very stable surface with good traction. Olympian riders have told us that their horses are very confident on the TravelRight and perform exceptionally well. Horses will not slide or slip on this footing making it perfect for Dressage, Pleasure, Jumping, and English riding. As a matter of fact this footing cannot be used for Reigning because the horses can’t slide on it. It also gives jumpers a cushioned landing and does not displace in landing or take off areas.

Will it get stuck in a horses hoof?
NO! TravelRight horse arena footing does not clump or become wet and sticky because it does not retain or absorb water. TravelRight will stay in place and will not be tracked out by horses or equipment under most conditions. TravelRight will absorb the shock of a horse’s hoof rather than being displaced by it. The arena footing will stay in place and track minimally to the outside of the arena like most footings.

Does TravelRight break down?
TravelRight is a unique formula that makes the footing very stable. With proper maintenance the components will last for many years. After years of heavy use key components can be added to replenish the footing without having to replace the arena. TravelRight does not breakdown or become toxic in any way.

Does it smell?
There might be a slight odor when it is first installed, but this will dissipate quickly.

Will my horse eat it?
Our customers have told us their horses are not attracted to the material. Even if the horse does eat it all of the components are inert and there is nothing in it that will harm the horse.

Is TravelRight arena footing difficult to install?
When building your arena you should follow the recommendations for a proper base and drainage. The TravelRight arena footing will be delivered ready to install. The footing should be spread to the appropriate depth for your discipline and usage level in the arena and compacted with a 5-ton compactor/roller. TravelRight will need to be laser leveled to all corners and compacted evenly as layers are added.
